Prior to joining Orkand, LaRoche served as a Chief Executive Officer and President of international operations with wireless communications provider SkyTel Communications Inc., a recently acquired division of MCI WorldCom. Among his responsibilities there, LaRoche was senior executive in charge of SkyTel's wholesale subsidiary, Destineer, whose revenues grew to $110 million under his direction. During his 25-year tenure with IBM, LaRoche led a 1200-member information systems sales and marketing force and oversaw the corporation's global advertising and promotional efforts. He was ultimately named Senior Partner of the IBM Consulting Group, a global IT and business process reengineering consultancy, and rounded out his career with IBM as Senior Director of Strategic Development. "The face of technology is changing and now, with the evolution of the e-Gov initiative, the promise of a paperless society is beginning to emerge within the federal government," explains LaRoche.
