PCI Geomatics Brings APEX Version 7.0 to GIS and Remote Sensing UsersFor this release, additional effort was made to fine tune APEX Version 7.0. New capabilities have been added and improvements have been made to the Data Sharing, Orthorectification, Mosaicking, Terrain Extraction, Triangulation, Image Display, and Feature Extraction tools. The ability to import and export GeoTiff images is now available and allows users to do so in all coordinate systems. ESRI ArcGrid terrain files can now be converted to and from APEX terrain files. In addition, shapefiles (both 2D and 3D) can be converted to/from APEX feature databases, preserving all feature attributes. Orthorectification and mosaicking can now take place within APEX or users may take advantage of OrthoEngine's mosaicking tools. Other attractive additions include the availability of full projection and datum support for a wide range of default and new user-defined systems, feature extraction is now much more user friendly, and a fully automatic interior orientation - no user interaction required!
